These unique, "one-of-a-kind" handmade chandeliers are custom-crafted in South Africa by award-winning lighting designer and entrepreneur Stephen Pikus and his dedicated team. Created with a social and environmental conscience, these functional artworks originate from whole glass bottles, broken glass and other glass items collected by a team of previously unemployed, trolley-pushing recyclers from the streets of South Africa. The recycled glass is then processed to form individual sea-glass looking pieces, sans-sharp edges and opaque in colour. Each piece of glass is then tied with copper wire and strung to form a variety of custom and standard sized chandeliers.
